Car Seat Safety Check List
We pride ourselves on our knowledge of car seats and will always show you how your car seat should be correctly fitted.
1. Always check that the car seat is suitable for the type of car in which it is to be fitted.
2. Your child’s weight determines the type of car seat you need:-
Up to 13kg - Group O+ (birth to approx. 9 months) - always rear facing
9kg to 18kg - Group 1 (approx. 9 months up to approx. 4 years
18kg to 36kg - Groups 2 & 3 (approx. 4 years to 11 years)
3. Always read the car seat instructions before fitting and use.
Keep these instructions in a safe place for the future.
4. Always make sure the child’s seat belt is fastened properly.
5. Always adjust the harness within the car seat so that the thickness of two fingers fits
between your child and the harness.
6. Regularly check the car seat fitting and condition of the car seat.
7. Never buy or sell a second-hand car seat; you do not know if this has been involved In
an accident.
8. Never place a car seat in the front of a car which has a passenger air bag switched on.
9. Replace your car seat if it is involved in an accident although it may not appear
damaged.
Never buy a car seat that you have not seen fitted in your car.
